FLOWERS IN THE DARK
Look around you. Everything you see—the chair, the table, the laptop in front of you—began as an idea. These objects exist today only because their creators refused to let them die in the soil of their imagination.
Imagine walking past a garden at midnight filled with red roses, blue orchards, lavender, yet you cannot discern their shapes or beauty simply because it is dark.
An artist first creates a masterpiece in his imagination. He sees the vibrant colors, feels the texture, and is dazzled by the inner vision. However, it takes a diligent creator to bring that image into the limelight. There is no greater tragedy than the burial of brilliant ideas that never see the light of day. They sprout in the imagination—vibrant and full of potential—but remain hidden like flowers in the dark. They stay locked in obscurity, not for a lack of beauty or purpose, but because they never stepped out of the shadows of thought and into the world of expression.
An unwritten book cannot be read, so is an unreleased song that cannot bless. The beauty of one's gift is to bring value to humanity; but if it still remains untapped it cannot multiply. The world can only celebrate what you reveal, not what you quietly carry. The late Dr. Myles Munroe often noted that the richest place on earth is not the gold mines or oil fields, but the cemetery. Sadly, many people die with the potential Almighty God placed within them. If your mind-blowing ideas never transcend your thought, they remain a collection of flowers in the dark. This is why many gifted people feel stuck; it is not a lack of talent, but a lack of manifestation.
Our most precious visions can wither due to procrastination, perfectionism, or the paralyzing weight of "what-ifs." We become crippled by doubt: What if no one likes my concept? Am I truly ready? What if I fail—or worse, what if I actually go viral? While we get bogged down by these questions, we must remember:
While the idea waits... it wilts. While the dream delays... it weakens. While the vision lingers unattended... it becomes a buried flower. We must be courageous enough to trust the season God has placed us in and move forward. When God gives a seed, He expects a harvest. When He gives a gift, He expects expression. When He gives a vision, He expects manifestation.
I pray that we courageously move forward, expressing all the gifts the Father has put in us, and bring the flowers in the dark into the sunlight.
As Matthew 5:14-16 reminds us: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden... Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
